In the picturesque Diepholz Moorn Settings, tens of thousands of cranes are currently stopping on their way to the winter quarters. These fascinating birds, which are often referred to as "birds of happiness", are not only a nice sight, but also an important indicator of the health of our ecosystems. Her return brings life and movement to the autumn landscape and attracts numerous nature lovers. The impressive scenes of the entry of the cranes invite you to a close connection with nature and are a popular motif for photographers and nature lovers.

On Friday, October 11th, interested parties can experience up close to a special lead in the Oppenweher Moor, under the title "Experience cranes - on the trail of the birds of happiness", as the cranes settle down for the night. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the experienced nature guide Henner Heßlau takes the participants on an exciting walk in which the calls of the cranes and their spectacular flight formations can be observed. The meeting point is the hiking car park Summann, in moor 17. "Enjoy the changing autumn landscape and listen to the calls of the cranes," the organizers invite all nature lovers.

Exciting insights into the Dümmer Nature Park

But there is not only a lot to discover in the bog. On Saturday, October 12th, a leadership will be offered in the Stemweder Bergen, which explores the secrets and challenges of the forests with a hunter. From 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Daniel Wagenfeld accompanies the participants and explains the importance of the forests, especially with regard to the current climate changes. The event begins at the "Weißer Weg" hiking car park in Wehdem. The ecological aspects of forest life and the challenges in front of which these habitats are facing are discussed.

In the time of change, the nature and landscape guide also presents perspectives on what the forests could look like in the future. "The exploration of the Stemweder mountains as a habitat and homeland will also be exciting," he warns of the changes that are noticeable in the forests. The participation costs amount to eight euros for adults and four euros for children between 6 and 14 years, and registrations are possible directly to Daniel Wagenfeld.

Another highlight is waiting on Sunday, October 13th, in the Rehden Geestmoor. On a guided tour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., nature and landscape leader Frank Mestars invites you to get to know the world of cranes again in a special way. The starting point is the observation tower, Moordamm 10 in Hemsloh. Here the participants can hear the impressive sounds of the cranes and learn more about their habitat.

The renatured raised bog represents a remarkable refuge for a variety of plants and animals, including wool grass and peat moss. Frank Mestars explains: "Experience the voices of the moor and the habitat of the crane with all their senses." The impressive, trumpet -like reputation of the cranes is not only acoustically remarkable, but also emotionally touching and creates unforgettable moments of happiness for all visitors. In order to participate in this experience, the participation fee is nine euros for adults and adolescents as well as 4.50 euros for children between 6 and 14 years. Registrations are also possible directly to Frank Mestars.

For all excursion participants, it is advisable to wear solid shoes and adapt the clothing to the weather conditions. Binoculars also make it possible to observe the cranes and other bird species even better. In the coming days, nature lovers will be invited to take part in the various adventure walks in the Dümmer Nature Park and immerse themselves in the magical world of the cranes and the autumn moor.
