Heart-like friends save life and receive XY price for courage!

A heroic moment in Sulingen! Five brave friends were awarded the coveted "XY Prize-Together against Crime" after saving life to a seriously injured woman. This award, which was awarded on Monday evening in the ZDF capital studio by Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD), honors extraordinary civil courage.

In September of last year, the five rescuers sat in a fast food restaurant when screams suddenly cut through the park. A man had attacked a woman with a knife! While the perpetrator fled his car, the friends kept a cool head: they wrote down the license plate and immediately alerted the police. But that was not all - they also hurried to the bleeding woman and provided first aid, saving them. The perpetrator, who had recently killed another woman, was quickly caught.

Overall, nine brave people were honored on Monday evening who saved crime victims. The XY Prize, which has been awarded since 2002, has been endowed with 10,000 euros each and recognizes the unshakable courage of these heroes. Among the well-wishers were the moderator of the ZDF program "File number XY ... unresolved", Rudi Cerne, and other prominent guests. This award is not only a sign of thanks, but also a call for civil courage in our society!
