The number of car theft in Delmenhorst and in the district of Oldenburg has experienced an alarming increase! This year, 263 cars have already been stolen - and the trend is pointing up, despite the intensive efforts by the police, to contain this crime. In the first eight months of the year, the thefts were a whopping 27 percent higher than in the previous year, which causes the citizens to be excited.

But what is behind this dramatic climb? More and more vehicles disappear without a trace, and the local authorities admit that despite their efforts, the points at which the thefts take place must continue to be observed. Monitoring, especially the popular car models, remains a challenge. In particular, there are a high number of Audi and BMW that are targeted by criminals.

The Delmenhorster police are alarmed and urges drivers urgently to better secure their vehicles. Simple measures, such as attaching steering wheel locks or alarm systems, can help to put the thieves the craft. "We ask the citizens to be vigilant!" Said a spokesman for the police.
