Series of burglaries and pickpocketings: Cuxhaven in fear!

Cuxhaven (ots)

Criminals are up to mischief in Cuxhaven: A 76-year-old lady from Loxstedt was the target of a brazen pickpocket on November 13th around 11:30 a.m. While she was loading her shopping into the trunk, the perpetrator stole her wallet unnoticed. The police in Schiffdorf are asking witnesses for information on the telephone number: 04706/9480.

In another incident, on Monday afternoon in Hemmoor, pickpockets sneaked into a hypermarket on Otto-Peschel-Strasse. An 85-year-old woman left her handbag in the shopping cart for a short time, a fatal mistake! The strangers grabbed her wallet. A similar incident occurred at the same time in the supermarket in Cadenberge, where a 79-year-old was also robbed. The police in Cadenberge are accepting tips on 04777/800630. Such scams often happen where people are distracted - a creative diversionary tactic!

Burglary and shock calls!

Even in quiet Wingst, the burglars did not remain idle: between Sunday and Monday morning, unknown persons gained access to the depot of a zoo and damaged several doors. The material damage caused is estimated at 1,500 euros. The police in Hemmoor will receive information on this on 04771/6070. But that's not all! On Monday evening, around 9:55 p.m., a break-in occurred at a single-family home in Schiffdorf. The neighbor saw several people wearing dark clothing fleeing when a window broke.

Shock calls spread fear!

The wave of shock calls that went through the entire district on Monday is particularly bad. Scammers call older citizens and fake serious traffic accidents in order to extort high deposits. Alarming: Fortunately, in the previous cases there was no actual damage, but the fear remains. The police urgently inform you: The police never ask for bail - do not be intimidated! If you have serious doubts – just hang up and inform the police! These unscrupulous crooks aim to scam people out of valuables with their false stories. Protect yourself and your loved ones from this sneaky scam!
