Hohe Tannen, Cloppenburg, Deutschland - In Cloppenburg, the district has opened a groundbreaking fire and disaster protection center that is second to none! On Friday evening, representatives from all 13 municipalities, aid organizations and numerous guests of honor gathered to celebrate the inauguration of the unique exercise center. On impressive 10,000 square meters, the new area 51 offers the emergency services of the fire brigade, German Red Cross and the technical relief organization the opportunity to train under realistic conditions and prepare for an emergency. Auxiliary Bishop Wilfried Theising emphasized: "Here people can learn to help and protect better."

The new exercise center is a real paradise for emergency services! With two practice areas of 3,000 square meters, a huge diving pool and even a double -decker wagon for rail rescue, which weighs 56 tons, everything is available to simulate realistic scenarios. District Administrator Johann Wimberg said that the lighting of the site also enables nightly exercises, which prepares the emergency services even better. The investment of around 1.4 million euros shows the district's commitment to the security and training of the emergency services.
around 175 guests of honor were present at the inauguration, including government fire chief Udo Schwarz, who praised the uniqueness of the center. "There is nothing comparable in Lower Saxony," says Schwarz. The new center promotes the cooperation of all aid organizations and offers a platform for comprehensive training opportunities. Civil protection is also strengthened by the new training opportunities, which is of great importance in view of the latest disasters. District Administrator Wimberg also invited fire brigades from other counties to use the new center and train there.
