Defeat for Team HandbALL: Aurich clearly defeats an exhausted opponent!
A fiasco for the HandbALL team in the Augustdorf Arena! On Friday evening, a sobering 30:41 graced the result board. The causes? Technical errors and a lack of performance. Without important players like Thorben Hübke and Meeno Carstensen, who form the heart of the defense, the team had to struggle. But that wasn't all: After 15 minutes, Ralfs Geisler was also unavailable, which further weakened the team's defense. Coach Jari Lemke expressed disappointment after the game and emphasized the lack of cover players.
Hark Hansen's eight goals couldn't save the bitter evening. The first half was a complete disaster. After an initial tie of 3:3, the guests from Aurich took command and pulled away at halftime with a terrible deficit of eight goals (12:20). Lemke tried to cover offensively in the second half, but too many turnovers prevented a real turnaround. “Aurich played at a high level and was simply better today,” he stated, while the problems of the defeat hung like a shadow over the team.
Quick review and outlook on the next challenge
Despite the bitter defeat, Lemke didn't give up: "Next weekend we'll get the points against Schalksmühle!" Another home game is on the agenda when the SGSH Dragons come to the house. The HandbALL team now has to lick its wounds and act strategically in order not to slip further in the league rankings, where they are currently in 8th place. The era of victories seems to be over and the pressure is growing! Will the team manage the turnaround or is there a risk of the next big blow? Fans will see the answer next Saturday at 6 p.m.!
