Free tree and shrub trimming: Register now in the Aurich district!

From October 21st there will be an important disposal campaign in the Aurich district: the collection of tree and shrub cuttings will begin. This measure, which will be carried out once in spring and once in autumn, is intended to offer citizens the opportunity to get rid of their green waste free of charge. The first collection takes place in the communities of Hinte and Krummhörn.

Disposal is carried out by MKW GmbH & Co. KG, the district’s responsible waste disposal company. All residents are asked to adhere to the established rules to ensure that the collection runs smoothly. The material must be made available for this on the first day of collection by 6:30 a.m. at the latest.

Important information about disposal

There are some specific requirements that must be followed to optimize discharge. First of all, it is important that the waste is bundled and placed clearly next to the house entrance on the street. Only organic materials may be used for bundling; Therefore, wire and plastic tape are taboo. In addition, the individual bundles should have a maximum length of two meters and a weight of no more than 25 kg. In total, the material provided must not exceed a volume of five cubic meters.

Another important point is that waste stored behind fences or hedges is not included in the collection. In addition, no garden waste or leaves that cannot be bundled should be provided, not even in bags, as these will not be taken away. The authority expressly points out that dumping waste at public or municipal collection points is prohibited. If materials are found in such locations, they will not be removed.

For more detailed information about the collection dates in the respective cities and municipalities, interested citizens can view the current waste and environmental guide or visit the MKW GmbH website. If you have any further questions, the Aurich district waste advisory service is available at the email address abfallberatung@landkreis-aurich.de or by telephone at 04941/167070.

This annual campaign is an important part of waste management in the Aurich district and offers citizens a practical solution for disposing of their garden waste. The upcoming collections contribute to cleanliness and order in the region and offer everyone the opportunity to actively contribute to caring for the environment.
