The 42-year-old states with pithy words: “Turbulent times at Kleeblatt!” After the sudden separation of sports director Rachid Azzouzi and coach Alexander Zorniger, the Franconians are facing a new beginning in sport, and Haas is now responsible. His debut next Saturday (1:00 p.m./Sky) at FC Schalke 04 could be decisive!
Everything happened at lightning speed on Tuesday: the decision was made at a supervisory board meeting on Monday, and Haas took over the helm on Tuesday. “It was a very turbulent day for me,” he admits. As a former Franconian player, he knows the club inside and out. He will use the little time he has left for intensive training, despite the clear realization: "Not everything that we see on Saturday has to be perfect."
The pressure is growing!
But the matter is not without challenges. Haas warns: “We have to be patient, but it still has to be done quickly.” This balance will be a big task for him until the winter break, as the club urgently needs points. Fürth is currently in 12th place with just two points more, while Schalke are languishing in 14th place. Haas remains optimistic: “I am very confident that we will perform well at Schalke.” But will it be enough to turn things around? That remains to be seen!
