Gugelhupf-Hit from Kirchdorf: Claudia Drossert enthusiastically with new recipes!

Kirchdorf. In the world of sweet temptations, Claudia Drossert has the talented café owner from the island of Poel, with her irrevisable Gugelhupfen caused a sensation! From strawberry coconut to rhubarb marzipan-their creations are so popular that they were immortalized not only in their gallery café, but also in their own recipe book. The first edition of 400 copies is already completely sold out! There is hardly a piece left if the 43-year-old serves her freshly baked masterpieces.

Since the opening of her café in May 2020, Drossert has brought over 2000 Gugelhupfe out of the oven. "It's a great cake and made quickly," she enthuses. While many only know the classic variants such as lemon or cocoa, she surprises her guests with creative flavors such as blueberry yogurt and raspberry poppy. "Everyone is served with a little vanilla," she adds. Your personal favorite variety? Lemon quark with red groats-a pleasure that you shouldn't miss!

In her book "Gugelhupf", Drossert shares twelve of her best recipes, supplemented by her impressive photo painting and poetic texts. "It is not a classic baking book, but a memory of the vacation," explains the Poelerin. Her works of art, which she captures on the island during her explorations, also find their place in the café, where they are sold as postcards and cups. With over 2500 motifs in her archive, including the popular island church and the lighthouse, Drossen brings the beauty of the island into the hearts of its guests.

The fifth season brought the most successful financial year for Drossert, and it is already planning the second edition of her Gugelhupf book. Orders are possible in the gallery café and online-a copy costs 15 euros. Her passion for baking and art is also evident in the new creation: crumble cakes, which is particularly popular with men. "Sometimes the Gugelhupf does not succeed perfectly, but I take it with humor," she says with a smile.
