Schwerin is celebrating the unit festival: more than 100,000 visitors enthusiastic!

In the state capital of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schwerin, an impressive citizens' festival took place on the occasion of the day of German unity. The event attracted thousands of visitors from different regions, which celebrated the festivities with live music, art and exploration of the federal stalls. The atmosphere was characterized by joy, relaxation and a strong sense of community.

The festival extended over three days and offered a varied program. On the last day of the celebrations, many people still moved through the streets that were lined with different stands and attractions. "We have planned a lot of music and entertainment until late at night," said a spokesman for the organizer who praised the good mood among the visitors.

high number of visitors and numerous activities

The visitors' storm on the holiday itself was particularly impressive, where, according to Peter Kranz, at least 100,000 people in downtown Schwerin were counted by the organization office. Also on the other days, several tens of thousands of guests stayed in the city, which meant a total number of over 100,000 visitors over the three holidays. This is remarkable because Schwerin itself only has about 100,000 inhabitants.

The city offered a wealth of events and activities that had something ready for every taste. In the morning, among other things, children's program stars from the Kika children's channel performed, including the popular Rabe Rudi and Bernd the bread, which were particularly well received by young families. The other highlights included musical performances by bands such as Keimzeit and Malik Harris, whose appearances put the crowd in enthusiasm.

Another highlight of the festival was the ZDF, which recorded a sequence of his television garden in Schwerin live. Despite excellent entertainment, it was also a place for more serious discussions. Citizens and politicians started talking, among other things at a question time with Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD), who was proud of the course of the celebrations. "Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania presented itself excellently," she said, emphasizing the contribution of the many hardworking helpers.

The variety of attractions could also be observed in the small art and cultural program. Street musicians contributed to the relaxed atmosphere, while poets and cabaret artists presented word art on the "Lost Poets Stage". These special small events gave the festival a distinctive character that fascinated many visitors.

final concerts and a warm summary

The evening of the last day ended with several large concerts that duly completed the celebrations. Zoe Wees, the celebrated young musician, was one of the main acts, pulling a large crowd to the main stage. The mood in the city was exuberant, while the participants enjoyed the last hours of the festival and gathered memories.

The organizers were very satisfied with the course of the festival and praised the peaceful and happy atmosphere in which the entire event took place. "It was a success across the board," said the final statement by the organization team. The next edition of the Citizens' Festival for the Day of German Unity will take place in Saarland in 2025.
