Neubrandenburg, Deutschland - A spectacular spectacle moved around 4,000 visitors to Neubrandenburg last weekend! At the fourth light paddle on the Oberbach and the picturesque Tollensesee, the spectators experienced an unforgettable dragon boat race that illuminated the darkness with colorful lights. 28 teams competed against each other in illuminated tens racing boats and paddled around. But that was not easy! The athletes had to orientate themselves on the pitch -dark water, with a single luminous buoy served as a orientation point. If you didn't make sure, you could easily tip over or get away from the course!

The winners of the evening

The challenge was enormous, but the “Seebären” team from Rostock mastered the route with flying colors! In just nine minutes and twelve seconds, they crossed the finish line and secured first place. The atmosphere was electrifying, while trees and shrubs shone along the Oberbach in colorful lights. Up to ten women and men paddled powerfully, cheered on by drummers and the tax team, which ensured the right course.

Light paddling not only represented the crowning glory of the canoe, kayak and dragon boat racing season of the Neubrandenburg sports club, but also offered a festival of community and sport. The participants and spectators enjoyed a night full of excitement and joy that the city of Neubrandenburg transformed into a shining paradise.
