District music school concentus inspires the regional orchestra competition!

A musical Highlight was recently held in Grimmen! The pupils of the Koncentus district music school, led by Wolfgang Hasleder, fought for the coveted third place at the 9th State Orchestra competition MV. With their sensitive and rousing appearance, “De Grooten Strieker” not only delighted the audience, but also convinced the jury. A total of 350 talented musicians from eleven orchestras competed, but the victory went to the youth prank and the youth wind orchestra of the Müritz district music school.

A top-class competition

The German orchestra competition is a nationwide initiative that promotes instrumental lay music and is aimed at a variety of lay orchestras. This big event takes place every four years, followed by a federal competition the following year. This time, eight of the eleven participating orchestras were in competition, while three more performed without evaluation. The participants came from cities such as Schwerin, Rostock, Neubrandenburg, Güstrow, Wismar, Parchim and Waren and presented a wide range of musical formations - from the youth information orchestra to big band. Two experienced juries, consisting of renowned conductors and ensemble ladders, had the demanding task of evaluating the performances.
