Danger of insolvency increases: Companies in MV are fighting for survival!

The economic shock waves are clearly noticeable: In 2024, the number of corporate bankruptcies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will have increased. The renowned credit reporting agency Credit reform reports that around 55 bankruptcies per 10,000 companies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania were registered this year, compared to 51 last year. This shows a clear trend that is further aggravating the already tense economic situation. The nationwide average number of 72 bankruptcies also shows that the northern federal state lags behind the average.

The increase in bankruptcies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is symptomatic of the increasing difficulties that many companies in Germany are facing. The head of economic research at Creditreform, Patrik-Ludwig Hantzsch, explained that the crises of recent years are only now becoming visible as bankruptcies. A combination of economic standstill and a lack of innovation is weakening the location and causing it to struggle in an increasingly competitive environment. Larger companies are also in focus, as shown by the Insolvency Monitor from Creditreform becomes clear. This offers a daily overview of insolvencies not only for large companies, but also for small and medium-sized companies, which are often underrepresented in reporting.

It remains unclear how these developments will affect the region's economic stability in the short term. However, it is obvious that companies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and throughout Germany have to assert themselves in an increasingly challenging environment. The numbers speak for themselves and make the urgency of economic reforms and innovative solutions even clearer.
