Safe B105: Construction work should prevent accidents on Stralsund!
The B105, one of the most important connecting roads in northern Germany, is currently being fundamentally redesigned to increase security at a critical intersection. This federal road extends over several cities, including Greifswald, Stralsund and Rostock, and plays a crucial role in traffic on vacation destinations such as the island of Rügen. The work focuses on the junction Pütte in the municipality of Pantelitz near Stralsund, which is known for a variety of traffic accidents.
Since mid -August, the conversion of the intersection, which has been classified as "accident -noticed", has been running, which means that accidents have rarely been reported here before. Surprisingly, however, the susceptibility to accidents at this location is high, since the view for vehicles that want to bend from Pütter Straße to the B105 is severely restricted by a crest. This led to the decision to move the intersection east of its current location by 150 meters. This measure is intended to significantly improve visibility and thus reduce the risk of accidents.
Extensive changes for improved view
The planned changes also include the construction of an additional left -hand turn on the B105, which is intended to further optimize the flow of traffic. But that's not all, because for the implementation of these measures, Pütterstraße and partly the bike path there must also be flipped. In addition, the bus stops are converted to barrier -free access, which improves accessibility for pedestrians and passengers.
The construction work has already leaded to an increased traffic volume on the B105, a street that is regularly used by travelers who drive to Stralsund and from there to the island of Rügen. In order to maintain the flow of traffic during the work, a half -sided traffic routing with traffic light control is set up. This measure enables traffic to be passed past the construction site and at the same time ensure security.
However, not only the diversions for vehicle traffic are planned during the construction period. Access to Pütter Straße is also temporarily closed to ensure the most efficient implementation of the work. Overall, it is assumed that around 1.7 million euros will be invested in the project, whereby the costs are borne by the Federal Republic of Germany.
The construction work on the B105 is an urgent step to improve safety on this important traffic artery. Such projects are necessary to take into account the steadily growing traffic density and prevent future accidents.
