Addiction risk for young people: Experts warn of new drug trends!

In the Wetterau, a dangerous problem is bubbling: drugs and looking for young people! Beatrix Falkenstein, the head of the Center for Youth Consulting and Addiction Aid, raises the alarm and reveals the terrifying facts. Already in the fifth and sixth grade, children are exposed to temptation when dealers act directly in front of the schools. "I don't know a single school in Wetterau in which no one would have had access to drugs," warns Falkenstein. The situation is serious and requires immediate attention!

The range of addictive substances is terrifyingly diverse. Cannabis, amphetamines and alcohol dominate, while buying alcohol in supermarkets often runs without control. Group compulsion plays a central role: "If you want to belong, you do a lot that you don't want," explains the expert. The trend of "pre -glowing" is particularly worrying, in which young people not only consume alcohol, but also pills and even LSD to be "good" at parties. Lachgas, which is now available from kiosks, ensures short -term euphoria, but the aftermath is anything but funny.

The dangers of cannabis legalization

Currently the legalization of cannabis causes excitement. Falkenstein is critical of: "The enlightenment was bad. Many young people think if it is legal, it can't be that bad." Smells are anything but harmless, especially for young people between 18 and 25, whose brain development has not yet been completed. The risk of psychoses and depression is real and alarming!

But not only drugs are a problem. The excessive use of cell phones also leads to signs of addiction. From online games to excessive consumption of porn-the dangers are diverse and often not immediately recognizable. The advice center in Friedberg looked after 831 affected people last year, with cannabis consumption being the most common reason for advice. Addiction has many faces and affects all social classes. Falkenstein emphasizes: "Addiction destroys families." The time to act is now!
