Karben is planning a new residential area: Rapp’s site becomes a living dream!

Karben, Deutschland - A huge change is in front of Karben! Where containers and boxes are currently still being stored on the Rapp’s area, modern residential buildings could soon be created. The Hassia Group, which runs the bottling of fruit juices there, shifts its activities to Bad Vilbel. This means that there is space for new projects on 5.1 hectares. The city councils have already received a sketch that shows the vision of a new district with up to 400 apartments. Karben, once a farming village, develops into a modern city center!

The plans for the new Brunnen district area are also in full swing. Not only 517 apartments are to be built here on 7.5 hectares, but also shops, offices and a parking garage. The city administration has announced the "final preliminary draft" for November, which also includes a new green area to extend to the NIDDA. The CDU parliamentary group has already brought ideas for leisure opportunities in the green area, but the discussion about it remains heated!

Rapp’s site and new possibilities

The city councils initially show up skeptically compared to the expansion of the city district on the Rapp’s site, which would be almost as large as the fountain quarters itself. However, the SPD and the city administration have already presented ideas for integrating the area into the new center, which encounters approval. A conversation with Hassia was unanimously commissioned to explore the possibilities.

The vision is clear: on the Rapp’s site, soundproofed buildings could be created that offer space for calm companies. Another exciting concept is the settlement of the »Werkstadt«, a kind of start-up settlement for craftsmen. The plans are ambitious, but there is still a long way to go until the old halls and the construction of the new quarter. The regional land use plan must be changed for this. However, Mayor Guido Rahn sees great potential in the position of the area, just 700 meters from the train station and adjacent to valuable green areas!
