Gymnastics club Alsfeld celebrates 175 years with a big show Sunday!

A spectacular festival in Alsfeld! The Alsfeld gymnastics club, the largest club in the city, celebrated its 175th anniversary with a grandiose show Sunday in the large sports hall. The hall was full of enthusiastic visitors who were looking forward to a colorful program that impressively presented the diversity of the association.

The board members Dr. Rainer Kehm, Oliver Hahn, Moritz Eisenger and Walter Fricke beamed over the great response. While the little athletes were already active in the morning at the children's gymnastics, various departments caused a rousing spectacle in the afternoon. From fiery dances to impressive fencing skills to rousing line dance - the spectators were very entertained. A special highlight was the performance of the talented ring acrobat Elena Trebert, who captivated the audience with her pole dance.

Walter Fricke impressed those present with an astonishing number: Of the 898 members, 400 children and adolescents under the age of 18 are! This gives hope for a radiant future of the association, which could possibly crack the 1000 members of the brand before the 200th anniversary. But the association is urgently looking for other trainers to maintain the diverse offer.

The event was also recognized by political sizes, including District Administrator Dr. Jens Mischak and Mayor Stephan Paule, who highlighted the importance of the association for the region. In addition, three club members were awarded the bronze badge of honor, who have been committed to the club for over two decades.
