Snowfall chaos in Hesse: Truck accident ensures traffic stop!
On January 2, 2025, strong snowfall in Hesse led to considerable traffic restrictions and a truck accident in the Rheingau-Taunus district. The German Weather Service warns of snow and smoothness in large parts of Hesse, which has significantly affected mobility.
In particular, the K703 between Seitzenhahn and the branch to Bleidenstadt was completely closed due to the accident. The Situation also affected regular bus traffic, which partly came to a standstill. In the early morning hours, clearing vehicles are used to make the streets passable again. Despite these difficulties, many hikers and families use the winter landscape for leisure activities, whereby children in particular enjoy tobogganing on popular tobogganing locations such as the "high root" and the "Wiesbadener Platte".
weather conditions and other developments
Tomorrow dry conditions with calm high -pressure weather are to be expected. The temperatures will be around freezing, and even at night it remains relatively cold. In addition to the winter road conditions, there is a risk of freezing wetness and snow. Most of the traffic areas could therefore be shaped by normal winter conditions.
