Tegut in the crisis: 120 jobs away and over 30 branches on sale!
Tegut, a food company from Fulda, is in a upheaval due to renovation measures by his Swiss parent company Migros. Initial dismissals have already been issued and there are significant changes in the branch portfolio and in the personnel area.
As part of the savings and renovation course, around 120 full-time positions are to be dismantled, which concerns about 10% of the company staff. Employees of the central services in Fulda and the new logistics center in Michelsrombach are affected. Thomas Gutberlet, the long -time managing director of Tegut and grandson of the founder, left the company immediately after the announcement. Michael Egerer, the former logistics and IT manager, also ended his employment relationship at his own request.
dismissals and branch sales
like Fuldaer Zeitung reports about more than 30 Tegut branches to new operators. The exact locations and possible buyers have not yet been announced. It is estimated that between 30 and 35 locations could be affected. The renovation measures have become necessary because Migros has determined inadequate sales and profitability development in the company.
At the same time, Tegut and the works council negotiated regulations to catch the consequences of personnel loss. The first employees have already received offers for mutually acceptable termination of the employment relationship. The Verdi trade union regretted the decisions and hopes for receiving as many jobs as possible, as well as hessenschau reported.
