New residential project in Fulda: row houses for cross -generational living!
In the Fulda city center, a new residential project is launched that creates new living space. Eight row houses are to be built on the Frenchwood, which are built in a current parking lot behind the B&B Hotel. Construction costs amount to 5.5 million euros. According to the Fuldaer Zeitung The construction work begin soon after the original construction start for the second year 2024 was planned.
The completion and the handover of the houses are planned for the summer of 2026. Each of the row houses will offer a living space of 132 to 165 square meters and consists of 4.5 to 6 rooms. The project is financed by the Sparkasse Fulda, and under the motto "Green living in Fulda", attention is paid to sustainable construction.
sustainable construction and accessibility
The houses are built in wooden construction with green roofs and regenerative heating energy. In addition, they are equipped with photovoltaic systems on the roofs. A central aspect of the project is accessibility: every residential unit can be equipped with an elevator and is accessible.
The new owners are members of the newly founded residential cooperative "Wood You". These have to use the living space itself, whereby cooperative shares can be inherited or transferred. However, the existing parking spaces in the course of the new building are eliminated, and no compensation areas are created, since according to the development plan, the area was never considered an official parking space, but as a residential area.
The concept of concept for the Frenchwood was successfully completed in May 2023. The contract went to the company Ting Projekte GmbH & Co. KG from Kiel, as on the website of the city of Fulda . There it is emphasized that every residential unit is equipped with an internal elevator to ensure barrier development. The aim of the project is to promote common living for all generations. The building application has already been submitted and the start of construction is also planned for the second half of 2024.
