Fulda fire department in double duty: fires in residential building and container!

A dramatic effort for the Fulda fire department! Late on Thursday afternoon, October 31, 2024, emergency services were called to Wiener Strasse twice. First, a fire broke out in an apartment building, which quickly attracted the attention of the fire department. But when the firefighters started extinguishing the fire, they discovered that a used clothing container was burning ablaze just a few meters away!

The fire department reacted quickly! They used a bucket syringe to extinguish the burning rubbish in the basement of the house. But the situation was dire: the stairwell was filled with smoke due to open doors, which required additional ventilation measures. While the fire department dealt with the fire in the building, there was traffic chaos around the scene as careless road users passed the scene.

The situation under control

A total of around 20 courageous emergency services from the Fulda fire department, supported by emergency services and the police, were on site. The exact background to the fire and the resulting property damage are still unknown. But one thing is certain: the fire department quickly brought the situation under control and prevented anything worse from happening!
