Ax attacker arrested in Dieburg-witness to alert police!
A shocking incident shook the downtown Dieburg on Monday evening when a 30-year-old man ran through the streets with an ax in his hand! Witnesses alerted the police around 7 p.m. and reported on an obviously alcoholic and confused man who roamed the dangerous weapon. The immediate search by the police finally led to the arrest of the man around 8.40 p.m. on the market square.
An alcohol test resulted in an alarming value of 1.68 per thousand! The police also ensured the ax that the man had with him. When checking his personal details, it came to light that the arrested person had no permanent residence in Germany and was already advertised for the arrest for violations of the weapons law. He was also banned with an official weapon and ammunition. After his arrest, the man was brought to guard, where an investigation was initiated against him before he was transferred to the correctional facility.
The investigation continues
In the meantime there was another incident in the region that put the police on alert. On Sunday, two suspects were arrested in Mörfelden-Walldorf after attentive walkers alerted the police. These had observed how two people behaved suspiciously and parked with a car nearby. During the check, the police found a life-size copper statue that had previously been stolen from the Gottfried-Schwab monument in Darmstadt. The two suspects, a 38-year-old and a 39-year-old, were also arrested and now have to answer to a judge. The investigation into both incidents continues, and it is not excluded that the suspects are also responsible for other similar crimes. The police stay vigilant and appeal to the citizens to report suspicious activities immediately!
