The warnings apply until Thursday morning and people should adapt to uncomfortable conditions. The altitudes are particularly affected, where up to 10 cm of fresh snow can fall. In the lower areas, however, it usually remains with a slight snowfall.

The weather situation is tense! In the coming days, not only snow, but also rain and pattern is expected. The temperatures drop to frosty values, and during the nights even threaten up to -7 degrees in the mountain country. The DWD warns of smoothness until 10 a.m. and frost until 12 p.m., especially at altitudes over 400 meters. The streets could be dangerous and drivers should be particularly careful.

But that's not all! After the heavy rains of the past few days, there are flood situations in several counties. The Fulda, Weschnitz, Kinzig and Fliede have already exceeded the first registration level. Local floods are also not excluded. In addition, the gusts of wind have already caused the first damage: a tree fell on the road in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district and damaged a car. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed.

The warnings of the DWD concern numerous circles in Northern Hesse, including the city of Kassel, the Waldeck-Frankenberg district and the Werra-Meißner district. People are asked to adapt to falling branches and other outdoor dangers. The weather experts advise to close windows and doors and to secure outdoor objects.
