Travemünde has new local council: Karsten Hübner takes over!

Travemünde. A new star in the political sky of Travemünde, a 52-year-old Christian Democrat, became the chairmanship of the local council chosen! At the recent meeting of the committee, the decision was made that was necessary after Thomas Thalau (CDU )'s resignation in September. Hübner brings 15 years of experience in the local political area and is ready to bring a fresh wind into the fortunes of the local council.

"I have spontaneously and joyfully agreed", said Hübner about his decision to take over the office. Born in Hamburg, who grew up in the Segeberg district, has been active in the CDU since 2008 and has been on the board of the CDU local association Travemünde since 2023. With a holiday apartment in Travemünde, which he acquired in 2014, he has long been connected to the Baltic Sea and moved to the charming coastal city two years ago. Hübner is married and has two adult children, which gives him a solid basis for his new role.

Citizens should be able to contribute more

The new chairman has big plans! Despite his work as a sales manager in a mobility service company, Hübner wants to actively involve citizens. "I really want to shape it all," he explains. His goals include improving the traffic situation in Travemünde, more offers for young people and the creation of meeting points for seniors. Hübner is committed to ensuring that the citizens can get more involved in the design of their community.

Another highlight: The local council of Travemünde, which has been in existence in March 2002, is planning a new homepage! This will serve to improve communication between the committee and the citizens. Hübner and his team are ready to tackle the challenges of the future and to represent the concerns of the Travemünder. The anticipation for the upcoming developments is great!
