Students in Schleswig-Holstein are desperately waiting for their school ticket!

In Schleswig-Holstein, around 1,500 pupils are currently waiting for the delivery of their Germany pattern ticket, which should enable them to go to school reduced by bus and train. The students concerned come from Flensburg, Neumünster and the districts of North Friesland and Ostholstein. Problems with the shipping service provider, which was commissioned to send the chip cards, lead to this delay.

It was originally planned that the tickets will be delivered on time at the start of school after the winter holidays on January 8, 2025. A total of 23,500 Germany school tickets were ordered in Schleswig-Holstein.

Transitional solution with OLAV identity card

So that the students can drive to school despite the delays, a temporary solution via the online portal "Olav" is available. Students can download an “identity card”, which is recognized as a temporary travel entitlement until the chip card arrived. This identity card applies to a maximum of January 20, 2025.

according to near.sh there are no problems in the delivery of the tickets in Kiel and in the circles Plön and Rendsburg-Eckernförde. The OLAV identity card, which is valid in local transport in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg, can be presented in printed or digital form during ticket controls. The login data for the OLAV portal corresponds to those used when ordering the Germany school.

The Germany school ticket offers individual discounts of at least 20 euros, whereby the costs for pupils in Schleswig-Holstein are between 21.50 euros and 38 euros. It has the same conditions as the previous 9, 49 and 58 euro tickets.
