The U19 of the RASTA Academy faces a crucial game in the NBBL against the ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES, who are currently leaders in the main round B. The game will take place on Sunday, January 12th at 1 p.m. in the RASTA Gym. The RASTA Academy is currently in second place in its group and aims to reach the promotion round Rasta Vechta reported.
The RASTA Academy qualified for the NBBL season as a newly registered team in the summer. After a record of 6 wins and 3 defeats from 9 games, the boys from Vechta are still in the race for the playoffs. A win in the next game against Rostock with a difference of at least 18 points could be crucial in order to qualify for the promotion round. In the first leg, RASTA Academy lost to SEAWOLVES 74:91.
A look at the table
The current table of the main round B shows that the ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES are leading with 7:2 and 14 points. The RASTA Academy follows in second place with 6:3 and 12 points. Should RASTA win the home game against Rostock, there could be an exciting constellation in which several teams have a similar winning record. The decision about the placement could then be made by the basket difference.
Another important aspect is that the game between Hamburg Towers and SG Junior Löwen Braunschweig will be watched on Saturday. If Hamburg wins, this would temporarily push the RASTA Academy out of second place. There are also other exciting games in the main round, including the Eisbären Bremerhaven match against Metropol Baskets Ruhr on January 12th.
Previously, the YOUNG RASTA DRAGONS suffered a clear defeat against ALBA BERLIN. After an even first half, they ultimately lost 94:66 NBBL basketball reported. The Dragons have not yet won a game in the A North main round, while the reigning champions from ALBA BERLIN were able to maintain their role as favorites.
So the next few days are crucial for the U19s of the RASTA Academy. A win against the ROSTOCK SEAWOLVES could pave the way to the promotion round.
