New sports park in Wendisch Evern: Decision is imminent!
In Wendisch Evern, a significant sporting development is based: The construction committee has taken a decisive step for expanding the sports field on Niendorfer Weg. This week, the municipal council will vote on the new soccer field as well as infrastructural additions to summer biathletes and archers in a meeting on December 16. In the past, there was resistance to the establishment of a sports park when a citizens' request stopped the plans. But the path has been paved since Monday and the chances of growing the new sports area. The chairman of SV Wendisch Evern, Schelle Assenheimer, was optimistic about the progress: "We have 450 members in SV Wendisch alone, our only facility so far is not enough." The expansion plan provides for a total area of around 26,000 square meters, which will be used for various sports in the future.
