In the Eimsbüttel district, extensive road renovation work is currently being carried out to remove winter damage. A total of 23 district roads are to be renovated for a sum of three million euros, as reported to the Eimsbütteler Nachrichten . The work on 15 street sections, including the Frohmestraße in Schnelsen, Grandweg in Lokstedt, the Schlankreye in Eimsbüttel and the Pöseldorfer Weg in Rotherbaum.
The renovations are said to prevent accidents by potholes caused by freezing and deaf soil last winter. Sonja Böseler, the deputy district manager, pointed out that some streets were only renovated in spring so as not to burden the flow of traffic excessively. Further measures are planned for the coming months, including for Isestraße, the Mittelweg and the Royal Children's Way.

In addition to the already closed streets, the following sections are also being renovated: Frohmestrasse, Eschenbrook, Goldkäferweg, Wendlohstraße, Lohkampstraße, Quedlingburger Weg, Niendorfer History, Nordalbinger Weg and the northern part of the Emmy Beckmann-Weg. In the southern part of the district, the work includes Lederstrasse, Lokstedter Grenzstraße, Grandweg, Julius-Vosseler-Straße, Schlankreye and the southern part of Pöseldorfer Weg.The complete renovation work is part of a 16 million euro continuation program that was launched by the city to improve the infrastructure in the districts.
