Fraud warning: False police and clinic professor target seniors!
In recent times, fraudulent callers in Germany have targeted older people as victims and always use new, outrageous tricks. A stranger reported to the phone as a professor of the Hamburg University Hospital and pretended that the daughter of a senior citizen in Buxtehude was ill. The caller called for immediate help in the form of an expensive drug worth 80,000 euros, since the senior's son also collapsed. Fortunately, the elderly woman was suspicious and turned to her son, which luckily the attempt to fraud was revealed, like ndr.de reported.
In Auerbach in South Hesse, another caller tried to outsmart a senior citizen with a similar approach. He introduced himself as a police officer and told about a fatal accident that her son is said to have caused. In order to avoid a prison sentence, a deposit of several thousand euros must be paid for immediately. The senior then handed over a total of 12,000 euros to a woman who appeared as a prosecutor before recognizing the extent of the fraud. These unscrupulous fraudsters put their victims under pressure and use shock moments to push them into rash decisions, according to the police headquarters in South Hesse in a report on presseportal.de .
The police urgently warns of such so -called "shock calls" and asks all citizens to inform the police immediately in such situations. Neither state institutions nor authorities will ever call for the reasons mentioned. It is advisable not to share personal or financial information on the phone and, if in doubt, to direct directly and contact a person of trust. The education and information about such fraud stitches are essential to avoid further damage.
