Halle: No new dog tax notices for 2025 – This is what you need to know!

Hall. Pst. Listen up, dog owners! The city of Halle (Saale) has made a surprising decision: no new dog tax annual notices will be sent out for the 2025 tax year! This means that the previous notices remain valid until they are replaced by new ones. This happens, for example, when moving, giving up your dog or registering another four-legged friend. The previous tax rates also remain in place and the due dates are still February 15th, May 15th, August 15th and November 15th of each year.

Validity of dog tax stamps

But that's not all! The blue square dog tax stamps that have been issued since 2021 also remain valid. Dog owners can therefore rest assured: their existing tags are still accepted and do not need to be renewed. The city of Halle, like many other cities, levies an annual dog tax that is due quarterly.
