Golden ribbon shines: A strong sign against childhood cancer in Vienna!

On February 15th, International Childhood Cancer Day, numerous Vienna landmarks will shine in a new, radiant light - a digital golden ribbon! The Children's Cancer Aid Wien-NÖ-Bgld and the Vienna agency Physixe have created this impressive symbol to raise public awareness of the challenges faced by children with cancer. The event is accompanied by a viral video that shows the ribbon in prominent locations and symbolizes the courage and strength of the affected families. Every year around 300 children in Austria are diagnosed with cancer, the most common diagnoses are acute leukemia and brain tumors, as reported by oe24.

The situation is similarly dramatic in Germany – around 2,200 children and young people receive the shocking diagnosis of cancer every year. On February 15th, the German Children's Cancer Foundation calls on people to wear the golden ribbon, which not only symbolizes courage and hope, but also embodies the determination to one day defeat the disease. Supporters can show solidarity by sharing a photo with the golden ribbon on social media. It is hoped that visibility on social media can also lead to donations for vital projects, as the foundation confirms.

Show solidarity and spread hope

The initiative is supported by influencers and individuals who promote the campaign on social media. “Our digital campaign is intended to raise awareness of this issue and show families who are affected that they are not alone,” says René Mulle from Children’s Cancer Aid. This partnership between creativity and technology is seen as a strong signal of hope to bring people together and pursue a common goal. Martin Spranck, Managing Director of the German Children's Cancer Foundation, emphasizes that every help counts and that financing important projects would not be possible without sufficient funds. It's not just about the sick people themselves, but also about a whole network of support and understanding.
