Göttingen crowns the best young gastronomists-a festival of talents!

Göttingen, Deutschland - The tension was tangible when the best young catering from the districts of Göttingen and Northeim at the district championships in southern Lower Saxony demonstrated their skills! This week the talents gathered at the vocational schools knight plan in Göttingen to compete against each other in an exciting competition.

A total of 18 prospective chefs, hotel experts and experts for restaurants and event catering showed impressive skills that the jury delighted. The bright winners are: Sarah Robin Dengg (Koch/Köchin, Apex Göttingen), Nils Remhof (Hotelfachmann, Trans World Hotel Auefeld Hann. Münden) and Oliver Wiese (specialist for restaurants and event catering, Romantic Hotel Landhaus Biewald Friedland). At the award ceremony, Olaf Feuerstein, chairman of the Göttingen district association in the German Hotel and Restaurant Association, surprised the winners with a voucher for an unforgettable seven-course menu!

a feast of the extra class

The highlight of the championships was a festive three-course dinner, which the participants prepared. The chefs impressed with a sophisticated starter from mushrooms, oyster sides and green core. The main course consisted of two whole rabbits, accompanied by pointed cabbage and carrots, while the dessert was served from delicious semolina, curd cheese and orange. A true festival for the senses!

The competition was equalized this year, which gave the participants more space to develop. For example, a departure room was checked in the previous week. All participants are in the final year of training and must not be older than 26 years. The winners will represent the South Lower Saxony region at the Landes decision in Osnabrück next March and have the chance to shine at the German Championships in Berlin in autumn!
