Commemoration in Gudensberg: Remembering the Kristallnacht pogrom in 1938
Gudensberg will become a site of remembrance on November 9, 2024! Every year Germany remembers the terrible events of Kristallnacht in 1938, which began the terrible path to the Holocaust. That night, synagogues burned and Jewish people were brutally persecuted and murdered. A memorial that is also kept alive in Gudensberg to keep the memory of these atrocities alive!

Students of Dr. Georg August Zinn School, the names of the victims who were persecuted and murdered during the Holocaust will be read out. A haunting moment of memory!
Tour to the Stolpersteine
After the emotional memorial hour, everyone is invited to take part in a half-hour tour of the old town. Hans-Peter Klein will lead visitors to the stumbling blocks, which remember the Jewish citizens and tell their moving stories. In addition, the permanent exhibition “Between Repression and Remembering” is accessible in the cultural center from 5:00 p.m. These events are not only a sign of remembrance, but also an appeal against forgetting and a call for vigilance in times of increasing anti-Semitism!
