Fire brigade meetings in Magdeburg: Together for democracy and diversity!

A spectacle of democracy on the Magdeburg weekly market! Firefighters from all over Germany gathered in front of the old town hall when the music train of the district fire brigade association Nienburg/Weser ceremoniously welcomed the incoming delegations. As part of the federal program "Cohesion through Participation", a Germany meeting took place by democracy advisors who are responsible for solving conflicts within the weirs and helping with problems.

Ronni Krug, deputy for staff, citizen service and order, welcomed the participants in the councilor of the historical town hall. DFV Vice President Frank Hachemer recalled the historic occasion, since the "Reich Banner Schwarz-Red-Gold" was launched exactly 100 years ago in Magdeburg, the largest democratic mass organization of the Weimar Republic. Also Dr. Tamara Zieschang, the Minister of the Interior and Sport of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, encouraged the fire brigade associations to continue to work strongly for democracy and diversity.

The end of the current funding period of the federal program is imminent, and many associations are already striving for further financing by the Federal Center for Political Education. Kai-Uwe Lohse, chairman of the State Fire Brigade Association Saxony-Anhalt, referred to the significant role of lived democracy within the fire brigades. He emphasized the need to obtain clear positions against extremism. Due to his entourage, Denny Saul, speaker in the Thuringian Fire Brigade Association, was heard when he presented successful measures from the project "Insert, take part, take on responsibility", including regional conferences and a joint advisory/interior training with the State Fire Brigade Association Saxony.

The following day, workshops offered an excellent opportunity for further training for the project -hungry, while the focus is on the next steps in order to cope with the fateful Situation. The path is clear: the fire brigade associations must continue to act as a pioneer for our democracy!
