In a shocking incident that shook the hearts of the fire brigade community in Hesse two weeks ago, the fire brigade base in Stadtallendorf (Marburg-Biedenkopf) was haunted by a devastating fire. The newly inaugurated vehicle hall burned down to the foundations - and around a dozen vital emergency vehicles burned with it! The news spread like a running fire and caused horror as well as immediate helpfulness from all over the region.

The Hattersheim city fire inspector David Tisold and Mayor Klaus Schindling did not hesitate long when they learned about the disaster. "We just had to help," said Tisold. So they immediately offered the rescue vehicle (RW 1) of the Hattersheim fire brigade in Stadtallendorf. "It was a matter of course for us to provide support in such a critical situation." The plans for the conversion of the rescue vehicle into a logistics device car were initially put on hold in order to be able to help faster.

On Monday afternoon the time had come: a delegation from Stadtallendorf, led by city fire inspector Patrick Schulz, traveled to Hattersheim to receive the rescue vehicle. Schulz was deeply affected by the generous support: "The help in this challenging time is indescribable and we are infinitely grateful for this." The district of Marburg-Biedenkopf also provides active support and provides device car logistics and commands. In addition, the Hessian State Fire Brigade School provided a turntable ladder and a fire engine.

But to continue to ensure basic protection in Stadtallendorf, there was an urgent still a rescue vehicle. The prepared rescue vehicle, a dated Daimler-Benz 917AF from 1999 with Metz structure, is well equipped with a light mast, a 50 km winch and a permanently integrated 12 KVA current generator.
