Fire brigade helpers from Hattersheim: rescue truck provided for Stadtallendorf!

In a shocking incident that shook the hearts of the fire service community in Hesse two weeks ago, the fire station in Stadtallendorf (Marburg-Biedenkopf) was hit by a devastating fire. The newly inaugurated vehicle hall burned to the ground - and around a dozen vital emergency vehicles burned with it! The news spread like wildfire and caused shock and immediate help from across the region.

Hattersheim city fire inspector David Tisold and mayor Klaus Schindling didn't hesitate for long when they found out about the disaster. “We just had to help,” explained Tisold. So they immediately offered the rescue truck (RW 1) to the Hattersheim fire department for use in Stadtallendorf. “It was a given for us to provide support in such a critical situation.” The plans for converting the rescue truck into a logistics equipment truck were put on hold for the time being in order to be able to help more quickly.

Rescue truck saves the situation

On Monday afternoon the time had come: a delegation from Stadtallendorf, led by city fire inspector Patrick Schulz, traveled to Hattersheim to receive the rescue vehicle. Schulz was deeply affected by the generous support: “The help during this challenging time is indescribable and we are endlessly grateful for it.” The Marburg-Biedenkopf district also provides active support and provides logistics equipment trucks and command vehicles. In addition, the Hessian State Fire Brigade School provided a turntable ladder and an emergency fire engine.

But in order to continue to ensure basic protection in Stadtallendorf, an emergency vehicle was urgently needed. The rescue vehicle provided, an off-road Daimler-Benz 917AF from 1999 with a Metz body, is well equipped with a light mast, a 50 kN cable winch and a permanently integrated 12 kVA power generator. A true lifesaver on four wheels that can now perform its valuable service in Stadtallendorf!
