Ice rink in Riesa starts with new highlights and special events!

Riesais ready for the big ice rink season in 2024! Torsten Pilz, the entrepreneur behind this popular winter pastime, has announced that the ice rink will be opened to the first ice skaters on November 29th from 2 p.m. With the support of sponsors like Volksbank, there will be some exciting innovations this year. But the preparations are a challenge: rising costs and the loss of an important sponsor are affecting the team.

The rink will be open through January 5th, with special hours on weekends and holidays. On weekdays, visitors can do their laps from 2 p.m., while on holiday days they can lace up their ice skates as early as 10 a.m. A ticket now costs 3 euros, which is 50 cents more than last year. Discount cards remain available and are a great way to save money.

Special events and reservation options

The planned one is a real blast Ice disco on the opening day, with DJ Flooo providing the music and the first 50 tenants of the Riesa housing company receiving free drinks. In addition, the popular iron curling will return on December 4th, which raised an impressive 6,000 euros for a good cause last year. The “HeiSZ on Ice” event on December 18th is also looking for courageous participants for their spectacular performances.

Ice skating is complemented by an additional curling track, which can be booked separately. The first registrations from school classes have already arrived and teachers can easily view the available times via the booking system on the ice rink's website. For everyone who is looking forward to the ice rink, there is not only fun, but also the opportunity to present Christmas greetings via the LED board at the ice rink.
