Three new forest toilets opened in the Saxon Switzerland National Park!

Bad Schandau. An exciting step for hiking friends in the Saxon Switzerland National Park: On Friday, the first three forest toilets were put into operation! These environmentally friendly drying toilets are now at the hiking parking spaces Neumannmühle and Nasser Grund in the Kirnitzschtal and on the majestic Lilienstein. Finally a solution to the pressing problem of the lack of sanitary facilities in this popular hiking region!

The new toilets are not only practical, but also environmentally conscious! They work without water rinsing or chemicals and remain hygienic and almost odorless, as the Saxon Switzerland National Park and Forest Administration emphasizes. "These toilets should relieve the forest and improve the quality of stay for visitors," explains Uwe Borrmeister, head of the national park authority. A real win for all nature lovers!

The innovative solution for hikers

hikers often had to make themselves easier on the side of the path, which was not only uncomfortable, but also in an environmentally harmful way. The new forest toilets are an answer to this problem! They are modern plump -tok that cannot be rinsed after use, but still remain almost odorless due to a special ventilation. An underground container with a capacity of 3,000 liters is emptied every six months, and a local company ensures regular cleaning and control.

The first two forest toilets outside the national park have already received positive feedback, with high cleanliness and hardly any repairs. The new toilet on the Lilienstein is even wheelchair -friendly! These toilets are not only functional, but also a sign of the responsible handling of nature and the appreciation of visitors. The houses made from domestic larch are further proof of local cooperation and commitment to the environment.
