Dramatic accident in front of the main fire station in Kiel: driver trapped!

In the early morning hours of November 16, 2024, more precisely at 4:00 a.m., an alarming traffic accident occurred in front of the main fire and rescue station in Kiel. Two cars crashed into each other at the intersection of Westring and Gutenbergstrasse. In this shocking incident, a driver was injured so badly that he was trapped in his vehicle and was unable to free himself.

The integrated rescue control center in Mitte reacted quickly and immediately alerted the professional fire brigade and the rescue service. The brave emergency services quickly arrived at the scene of the accident to help the trapped driver. Thanks to their lightning-fast reaction, they managed to free the man from his vehicle and immediately hand him over to the emergency services. The injured man was quickly transported to a hospital for further examinations.

Total loss and investigation

Both vehicles were totaled in the violent collision. The police are now in the process of reconstructing the exact course of the accident. A total of around 20 emergency services from the Kiel fire and rescue service were on duty for around 45 minutes to bring the situation under control and ensure that no other people were in danger.
