With Do Care, Thorsten Dockweiler takes outpatient care in Pirmasens to a new level - growth, new locations and individual offers.

Do Care is expanding: care redefined in Waldfischbach-Burgalben!

Thorsten Dockweiler founded the care company Do Care in September 2020. Do Care's corporate mission statement, “Do care, we care – we care,” remains unchanged in the fifth year of the company's founding. Nevertheless, the company structure is being adapted to the pleasing growth.

In this context, the company headquarters will be relocated to Waldfischbach-Burgalben. The existing premises in Thaleischweiler-Fröschen will continue to be used, but for day care. The administration moves to a new building that previously served as a pharmacy and doctor's office. In 2023, a residential group for intensive care was opened in the former practice rooms.

Growth and workforce

Do Care now employs 78 people, including four trainees. The company offers individual care offers and attaches great importance to a pleasant atmosphere for patients, relatives and employees. Thorsten Dockweiler completed his training at the Westpfalz Clinic in Kaiserslautern and was previously managing director of several nursing facilities. The outpatient care service and household-related services were introduced as the next steps in the company's development.

Do Care Intensivpflege GmbH was founded on January 1, 2023, while Do Care outpatient care GmbH is scheduled to be established by 2026. The existing Do Care Pflegezentrum GmbH will act as a holding company for the new companies. The outpatient out-of-hospital intensive care and the residential group are part of Do Care Intensivpflege GmbH and offer 24/7 services. Domestic support is offered within a 45-kilometer radius of Thaleischweiler-Fröschen, while outpatient care is active within a 28-kilometer radius, from Homburg to Kaiserslautern.

The residential group in Waldfischbach-Burgalben offers three places with 24-hour care and common rooms. In addition, after the administration moves, space will be created for day care in Thaleischweiler-Fröschen.

Parallel to the developments at Do Care, the care market is facing challenges such as rising costs and a possible wave of insolvencies. According to reports, the home care market will grow by 2 percent in 2023, while the number of home care services increased by 473 new services compared to the previous year.

Home Instead is one of the largest care service providers in Germany, followed by Johanniter and Aiutanda. In total, around 17,400 nursing services care for almost 1.9 million patients in Germany, while the 15 largest nursing service operators account for a market share of 5.5 percent of the entire outpatient care market.

The developments at Do Care are part of a dynamic care market in which a large number of providers offer both inpatient and outpatient care services.
