DLRG Kusel shines at the Salt Cup: Four top placements for swimmers!
The lifeguards of the DLRG Kusel showed impressive performances at the Salt Cup, which took place in Halle/Saale. The event, which provides an important platform for many athletes, attracted both men's and women's teams from different regions.
In the men's competition, Nils Gerdelmann, Torsten Goossens and Philip Krebs competed for Kusel. Particularly noteworthy is Nils Gerdelmann, who made it to the final in the male age group I and took an excellent fourth place. Philip Krebs had a somewhat more difficult time and placed 21st in the overall all-around rankings.
Strong performances in different age groups
Torsten Goossens shone in the male age group III by also qualifying for the final and taking fifth place. Tedi Petrov was in action for the women, but it was challenging for her: She achieved 24th place overall in age group I.
The DLRG Kusel was looked after by Andreas Kauf during the competition, who made a significant contribution to the positive performance of the athletes. The supportive role of the coach is evident in the good results of the various swimmers.
Outlook for upcoming competitions
The DLRG Kusel is optimistic about the future as it will travel to the German All-Around Championships in Hanover at the beginning of November. Furthermore, an important European Cup competition in Eindhoven is on the agenda in December, which offers an excellent opportunity for athletes to compete at European level.
Another reason for the DLRG to be happy is the appointment of Torsten Goossens to the Rhineland-Palatinate state selection. This will start at the end of November at the international German Cup in Warendorf, which is not only a personal award for Goossens, but is also a sign for the entire DLRG Kusel of its strengthened position in rescue sports.
These successes are not only important for the athletes themselves, but also strengthen the incentive for further sporting challenges and the promotion of rescue sports in the region. The DLRG Kusel remains a central player in the field of lifeguarding and is on a promising path.
