Thieves steal picnic equipment: school class remains without cake!
Meißen. A shocking incident occurred on Thursday when a 66-year-old cyclist was seriously injured on Niederauer Strasse. The accident happened around 11:15 a.m. when a 24-year-old driver of a VW Crafter wanted to drive backwards into a property over the foot and bike path. The cyclist, who had to be taken to the hospital immediately, occurred. The property damage amounts to around 4,000 euros. Niederauer Straße is considered the focus of the accident where cyclists always get into dangerous situations.
Theft and Breaks
Crime strikes in the region! On the same day, several thefts were reported in the area. In Radebeul, burglars broke into a single -family house on Mozartstraße by prying down a window. Jewelry and cash have been stolen, exact amounts of damage are not yet known. In Riesa, a blue Audi A6 worth around 69,000 euros was stolen. And as if that weren't enough, thieves at the Alschtich near Ponickau captured a complete picnic equipment of a school class. The students had turned off their things around 8:30 a.m., only to return with empty hands at an hour later. The value of the stolen objects is around 90 euros.
In Coswig, burglars tried to penetrate into a snack on Salzstrasse on Thursday night. They lifted a window, but failed when trying to open a back door. Despite the failed slump, they left damage to property. The security situation in the region remains tense and the citizens are alerted.
