Campino: Klopp would have shone as a right winger at Fortuna Düsseldorf!”

Campino, the charismatic frontman of Toten Hosen, has made an emotional statement about his friend Jürgen Klopp's spectacular career change! The football coach, who is leaving his position at Liverpool, will take on the role of global football boss at Red Bull from January 1st. But Campino had completely different plans for his friend: "I was really sad and disappointed because I had hoped that he would come to Fortuna Düsseldorf after his work in Liverpool!"

Like an old friend of Fortuna, Campino even considered a very special position for Klopp! "We've discussed it often enough that Fortuna would have given him a proper contract. And not as a coach - because we already have a good one - but as a right winger!" the musician added with a wink.

Disappointment and joy

But that's not all! Campino also expressed his disappointment at Fortuna Düsseldorf's non-promotion. “The disappointment was great,” he admitted. Still, he sees the silver lining in the sky. “This has the long-term advantage that we will win significantly more games this season and have more fun than would have been expected in the 1st Bundesliga!” emphasized the singer optimistically.

He drew attention to the challenges of the competitors: “You can see the difficulties of St. Pauli, Kiel and Bochum at the bottom of the table in the first league.” For Campino it's a high full of celebrations and screams for goals in the second division instead of enduring the pressure of the first division! He concluded by saying that the current season is “a lot of fun again” and that Fortuna will benefit from the victories!
