Vegesack cycles to success: 4,786 kilometers for a good cause!

In the Vegesack district of Bremen, an exciting initiative recently developed: Vegesacker Marketing e.V. called the residents to participate in the city bike. This event, which met with keen interest at the North Bremen, ended with an impressive total route of 4786.9 kilometers, which was covered in just three weeks. There were great prizes to win for the most committed cyclists, but a catch remained: the first places only registered with initials and were therefore anonymized. Vegesacker Marketing e.V. calls on the two winners to report to be able to receive their awards.

The Vegesack team was part of the larger overall team "Allbremen", which formed from various subteams, including groups from Hemelingen and Gröpelingen-Oslebshausen. Together, the Vegesacker Team was able to win six in the overall ranking of the Bremen participants. The performance of the Vegesack Marketing team, which took second place and only had to give up Gröpelingen-Oslebshausen, is impressive. Here, numerous students from Bremen-Nord contributed significantly to success, with the Vegesacker Gymnasium received special praise with its seven teams. "If they had started as a whole team, they would be in fourth place," said Jürgen Möller from ADFC Bremen-Nord.

The role of bicycle in society

Jürgen Möller emphasizes how important the bike is for schools and demands that the cycling infrastructure in Northern Bremen improve. "The pupils come from the entire area between Rekum and Marßel. These cycling routes urgently need to be designed more safely and more comfortably," warned Möller. The ADFC group is actively committed to transport policy in the region to continue to ensure the safety of cyclists in the future.

The district group itself was also active in the city bike and competed with the team "North Bremen Utkiek-Radler" for the ADFC state association Bremen. They achieved the overall victory in the campaign and covered more than every fourth kilometer of the distance covered over 20,000 kilometers. Möller describes the team's composition as diverse: "It consisted of commuters, families and leisure cyclists." Similarly, the Vegesack Marketing Team was set up.

Katrin Schultz from Vegesack Marketing is excited to see which group the winners come from. There are various prices to win for your efforts: including a cobag from allbremen and practical promotional items from the bicycle!. Those who want to remain anonymous are waiting for their awards and should contact Schultz at k.schultz@vegesack-marketing.de.

Overall, the Vegesack Marketing e.V. and the ADFC district group Bremen-Nord draw a positive conclusion from the city cycling campaign. The collaboration between the two actors has not only borne fruits, but also to a variety of successful activities as part of the bicycle! Initiative. For this reason, they have decided to act even more intensively and in the future in order to bring further impetus to the cycling culture of the district.
