In the early morning hour on Saturday, the Überlingen volunteer fire brigade was called for a dramatic fire in the old town at 4.22 a.m. An unclear building fire was reported on Hafenstraße, and in view of the uncertain situation, a large contingent of emergency services was mobilized. What the first emergency services encounter is a fire that rages in a neighboring garage in a neighboring garage and threatens to attack an adjacent residential building. The garage also served as a paint shop for a local carpenter, which further increased the danger.
Fire brigade on alarm readiness
The fire brigade did not lose time - a massive extinguishing rate was started under heavy breathing protection. The quick reactions of the heroes in the fire uniform led to the fire soon under control, and the spread of the flames to the adjacent houses could be successfully stopped. With ten vehicles and 50 brave emergency services, the volunteer fire brigade managed to tame the flames and to avert the danger.
Fortunately, there were no personal injury, but seven residents had to temporarily leave their apartments. These were cared for by the emergency services and the rapid deployment group of the German Red Cross and were later able to return to their apartments unscathed. The entire water supply was ensured via the urban hydrant network and water -bearing fire engines, so that the fire brigade was optimally equipped. In addition, the police were on site to ensure security during use. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage are currently still unknown, the police have started the investigation.| Details | |
