The first Advent market on Siebenbrunnenplatz celebrates its grand opening!

The first Advent market will open on Siebenbrunnenplatz on November 29, 2025. District head Michael Luxenberger and the Vienna-Margareten Merchants' Association cordially invite you. The opening takes place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and offers a variety of attractions for all visitors.

The highlights of the market include the sale of classic Christmas products and punch by local stallholders, which starts at 10 a.m. From 4:30 p.m. there will be a musical supporting program with the sounds of the Kellerkirche church choir as well as pop music by the young artists Mayaa & Birch! and Ivery can be experienced. Before the festive event ends, the Christmas tree lighting is put into operation.

Social commitment and local crafts

The market not only focuses on entertainment, but also on community engagement. Chairwoman Angelika Wenzler-Göth will serve punch in return for a donation to the children's cancer charity. Gift items are also manufactured in the Mittersteig Forensic-Therapeutic Center, thereby supporting local institutions.

The Advent market on Siebenbrunnenplatz is just one of many that Vienna will present in an inviting way in 2025. A total of 14 official Christmas markets are planned, comprising over 900 stalls, including 180 food offerings. Many of these markets offer traditional Advent markets and local Grätzel events that invite you to stroll or linger.

The diversity of Vienna's Christmas markets

Particularly noteworthy is the Christmas market on Vienna's Rathausplatz, which will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. from November 14th to December 26th. With 96 stalls, 21 of which are catering, a wide range of items are offered here, from crafts and gift ideas to culinary delicacies such as punch and mulled wine.

Other important markets include the Altwiener Christkindlmarkt on the Freyung, which is known for its long tradition and handicrafts, and the Christmas village on Stephansplatz, which offers high-quality products from Austria. Relaxation and enjoyment await visitors at the Christmas village in Belvedere Palace, which offers a wonderful baroque backdrop.

A new highlight is the winter market at Riesenradplatz, which will feature child-friendly attractions such as the winter castle and an outdoor playground in addition to live music and craft stalls from November 21st to January 6th.

The festively decorated old town and shopping streets make the Christmas season in Vienna an unforgettable experience that attracts visitors from all over the world. The opportunities to enjoy and relax in the festive atmosphere offer something for every taste.
