Discover the secrets of Fürth: city tours in January 2024!

On December 27, 2024, the city of Fürth will provide information about a variety of city walks that will be offered in January. The events offer citizens and visitors the opportunity to explore the city in an interesting way and learn more about local history and culture.

For those interested, the discovery tour “The Old Town and its Courtyards” begins on several dates: on Wednesday, January 1st, at 2 p.m., on Sunday, January 5th, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, January 11th, at 2 p.m., on Sunday, January 19th, at 11 a.m. and on Saturday, January 25th, at 2 p.m. The starting point is the St. Michael church square.

A variety of topics and dates

Another tour with the title "Does it taste good? It's great!" illuminates the culinary history and famines in Fürth. The dates are Friday, January 3rd at 5 p.m. and Friday, January 17th at 5 p.m. The meeting point for this tour is the main entrance of the town hall, Königstraße 88, where you can register at www.geschichte-fuer-alle.de is required.

In addition, a tour entitled “Anecdotes & Curiosities from the Cloverleaf City” will take place on Saturday, January 4th at 11 a.m. The meeting point is the inner courtyard of the Kulturforum. Another walk “Fürth for beginners”, which deals with the city’s history and historical places, also starts on January 4th at 2 p.m., as well as on other Saturdays and Sundays in January.

For those interested in the city's economic development, the “Splendor and Awakening” tour is offered, starting on Sunday, January 5th at 2 p.m., starting at Café Luise. A walk entitled “Fürth and its cloverleaf” will take place on Monday, January 6th.

A particularly interesting walk is “What the Stones Testify,” which begins on Sunday, January 12th at 12 p.m. at the Old Jewish Cemetery. Here we ask that men bring a hat. Other themed tours include “The Gänsberg – the lost old town of Fürth” and “Fürth and Nuremberg – (No) love”, with varying starting points and dates throughout January.

For anyone who would like to learn more about Jewish life in Fürth, a city walk will be offered on Sunday, January 26th. The meeting point is the entrance to the Old Jewish Cemetery, Schlehenstraße. In addition, a guided tour of the “Sleeping Treasures of Broadcasting History” in the depot of the Broadcasting Museum will also be offered on Sunday, January 26th.
