Light Sunday in Wittenberge: Lantern parade and laser show await you!
On November 10th, Wittenberge will be the shining center of events! The eagerly awaited Lights Sunday begins at 2 p.m., and the best part? All shops in the city center open their doors to welcome visitors! Anke Hahn, the branch manager of WIR – the Wittenberg interest group – also announces a spectacular lantern parade that starts at 4:30 p.m. The festive procession begins on Paul-Lincke-Platz and promises an unforgettable experience.
Lantern parade with music and a festive atmosphere
The lantern parade is led by none other than the Wittenberg night watchman, city guide Jürgen Schmidt. The Berlin band Cultus Ferox creates a great atmosphere with their rousing medieval rock. Your unique bagpipe skirt will delight participants! At Paul-Lincke-Platz, participants can purchase LED light balloons or bring their own lanterns to shine together in a festive atmosphere.
Carousels and a grand finale
But that's not all! The shops in the city center are encouraged to have their windows brightly lit to create a magical atmosphere. From Thursday, Bahnstrasse will be decorated with carousels that will provide fun and joy. The highlight of Light Sunday? A breathtaking laser show that starts at 5.30 p.m. on Paul-Lincke-Platz and ends the evening spectacularly. Wittenberge will shine like never before on this day!
