Potsdam: Finally! Kita portal comes in 2024 - this is how the search for space runs!

Potsdam, Deutschland - Potsdam is ready for the long -awaited breakthrough when looking for a daycare center! After years of delaying, the revolutionary portal should finally go online in autumn 2024, as city spokeswoman Juliane Güldner confirmed on request. Parents can be excited, because in November further exciting details will be announced that could make it easier to wait for new daycare places.

This project, which has been in the starting blocks for 15 years, should score with a clear goal: to support parents in the often tedious search for suitable daycare places. The city announced in autumn 2023 that the award for the portal has now finally been completed. But the wait was long and full of obstacles that delayed the project again and again.

But the environment has changed drastically! A whopping 3011 daycare places are currently empty in the state capital - that is over 25%! This results from strongly falling births and a decline in influx. The situation in the cribs is particularly alarming: 1297 places are vacant here alone! The SPD is already alarm and calls for a moratorium against HR reduction in the daycare centers. It remains to be seen which measures the city will take to counter this challenging situation.
