Dog registration in Hennigsdorf: All facts for the new regulation!

In Hennigsdorf, dog owners can now register their four-legged friends. This innovation came into force on July 1, when Brandenburg introduced a comprehensive regulation on dog keeping that brings some significant changes. According to Monique Meyer, the head of the Citizens' Services department, the previous racial list is eliminated, which means that all dogs must now be registered regardless of breed or size.

Before this step, the reporting obligation in Hennigsdorf was only required for dogs from a withers height of 40 centimeters or a weight of over 20 kilograms. One reason for this change could be the increasing number of dog keeping and the associated security issues. The new regulation means that all dog owners have to become active now to properly register their animals.

How does registration for dogs work?

There are various options for registration. Dog owners can register their four -legged friends online at www.hennigsdorf.de/hundhergaltung , where you can find a corresponding document in the menu item "Services". Alternatively, personal registration in the town hall is also possible, which is necessary for previous appointments.

The registration includes essential data of the owner as well as information about the dog, including call and breeding name, breed, throwing date, fur color and microchip number. With the microchip obligation, dogs must be identified at the latest after the eighth week of life, which makes identification easier in the event of a loss.

Important changes in the legal system

Another significant point of the new regulation concerns the classification of dogs as dangerous. In the future, this classification will no longer be based on breed, size or weight, but on the individual behavior of the dog. Incidents such as bite attacks can cause a dog to be classified as dangerous. A general linen and muzzle requirement then applies to such dogs.

In the city of Hennigsdorf, a leash is also required for all dogs in the entire urban area, which is due to security concerns. Dog owners should also be clear about suitable places for the run -out times of their animals. Hennigsdorf offers four dog spots where dogs can play safely and let off steam.

Another upcoming change affects the city's dog tax statute, which is to be effective on January 1, 2025. Dog owners should therefore remain informed and take care of the necessary registrations in good time.
