Potsdam introduces payment card for refugees: This is how it works!

Potsdam, Deutschland - Potsdam (dpa/bb) - An important step for refugees in Brandenburg is imminent! The highly expected introduction of the payment card for asylum seekers is on the move. The service provider Secupay won the tender for 14 federal states - a real coup! This means that the authorities can now apply for the cards quickly and easily from this provider. While the other counties in Brandenburg are still waiting for the starting signal, the district of Märkisch-Oderland has already introduced the card independently in May-and thus sets new standards!

framework agreement ensures clarity

It can be that easy! The counties and independent cities as well as the central immigration office are now responsible for the payment card. The basis? A clear framework agreement from the Ministry of Integration, which precisely determines the requirements for the services provided. No pressing around - the circles and cities can join this agreement directly and benefit from the advantages.

flexible use and safety precautions

The payment card is working like a debit card and is available digitally for smartphones and as a physical card. From now on, the social benefits are in the hands of the authorities, which ensure that the funds are only used locally. A little security smiles at us: The monthly bar withdrawal amount is limited to 50 euros for adults and 25 euros for children. But that's not all - the card is accepted all over Germany! The approximately 13,000 authorized asylum seekers in Brandenburg, as well as the 2,700 people in initial reception facilities, are intended to receive urgently needed support even faster. On the payment card, ready, go!
